I'll add this post here and make it public, so it can be enough motivation for me to read those all books, and possibly share insights with you if you are interested.

My goal for this year is to read just 10 books, and anything extra would be considered a nice bonus.

So, here we go.

Empowered by Marty Cagan.

✅Personality isn't permanent by Benjamin Hardy. [5/5]

Deep work by Cal newport

Blind Spot by Mahzarin Banaji

Leaders eat last by Simon Sinek.

Writing to be understood by Anne Janzer

A more beautiful question by Warren Berger

Nonviolent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg

A complete guide to volume price analysis by Anna Couling.

Have you read any of these? What is your list?

The idea of the experiment is that if you take someone without knowledge of the Chinese language into a room, and give them templates with answers, like "if X -> Then Y", and then get a real native Chinese speaker to write questions, that person in the room would be able to find the matching question and give an aswer, even without understanding the details and knowing Chinese language.

So it means that if someone would have enough knowledge on potential questions and answers, even without understanding the context, they would be able to provide answers, which would be acceptable by the inquirer.

This thought experiment made me think about how things might work in the world, especially in IT and product companies.

I've typed a password and I've got that red message on top of the screen informing me that the password I typed is wrong. I typed the password again, assuming that this time it's correct. But after hitting the
login
button, I see no change.

It makes me think — did the form submit the new password or not? Or is this password also wrong? Eventually, after a few attempts, I figured out it was wrong password. But the experience was frustrating.

I think Agoda's marketing team probably knows that I'm in Vietnam. And I bet they have operations office in Vietnam and they know that Vietnam has a lockdown for the past month or longer.

Yet I still get emails proposing me to travel. Sorry, Agoda, it is not possible at the moment. We can not even leave the city to travel.

This add doesn't help at all, it's just like rubbing salt into the wound.
