Refresh in Mail and Calendar app

When you want to get new mail in the macOS mail app you hit Shift+Cmd+N. When you want to refresh events in the Calendar app you hit Cmd+R. Do you find it strange?

Would you prefer one unified command for pulling new content across all apps in the OS? Why?
